GENERAL AND MEDICAL INFORMATION
Use of the sauna is done so at your own risk. We ask that you contact your GP if at all in doubt about safely using the sauna.
If any of the below apply to you (please note, this is not a comprehensive list) we advise you to seek your GP’s advice:
- If you are pregnant
- If you have had a heart attack or stroke
- If you are taking any medications
- If you have cardiovascular conditions and/or problems
- You have asthma or breathing conditions
- High or low blood pressure
- If you have arterial disease
- If you have joint or muscle injury
Guests with epilepsy are not permitted to use any Sea Scrub Sauna facilities, including saunas, cold plunges, ice baths, cold showers, and hot tubs, at any of our sites. This restriction applies without exception and is a firm requirement under our insurance policy. It is not a reflection on individual circumstances or how well a condition is managed. The sauna is extremely hot. Do not touch the stove, stove door, flue chimney, sauna rocks, or surrounding fire guards, and only pour water onto the stones as instructed.
When pouring water on the rocks, start from the point furthest away from you to prevent scalding.
All persons using our cold plunge whisky barrels, cold showers, or the sea as a cold plunge do so at their own risk. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to cold temperatures and the varying conditions of the sea.
Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in or around the sauna.
We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons.
Any hanging jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burning.
Sauna etiquette must be adhered to at all times. This includes:
- Entering and exiting the sauna with care
- No running anywhere on the sauna site
- Removing shoes before entering
- Sitting on a towel at all times
- Staying in the sauna for no longer than 20 minutes at a time (we recommend 5 to 15 minute sessions)
- Do not use essential oils or skincare products in the sauna without permission
- Only swimwear may be worn in the sauna
- Nudity is not permitted
If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all members of your group aware of the terms and conditions, to practise safe sauna use, and to inform others of what to bring and any other useful information.
We reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.
AGE RESTRICTION
Children aged 16 and under are permitted to use the sauna with an adult family member or guardian present at all times during the hire and use of the sauna.
Children aged 12 and under are not permitted to join social sessions.
No under 5s are allowed in the sauna.
No under 16s are allowed in any water at a temperature of 15°C or below, including ice baths, plunge pools, and cold showers.
Minors aged 5 to 16 may use hot showers, hot tubs, and ambient mild plunge facilities (16°C to 20°C), provided a waiver has been signed by an adult family member or guardian. The minor must be supervised by that adult at all times.
A waiver must be signed on site by the accompanying adult before any minor uses any facility. See below.

If the terms agreed to in this waiver are breached, Sea Scrub Sauna reserves the right to terminate your hire immediately, at their discretion.
HOT WATER AND AMBIENT FACILITIES
Hot Showers and Hot Tubs
- Maximum temperature for these facilities is 43°C.
- Minors aged 5 to 16 may use these facilities provided that an adult family member or guardian has signed the waiver above and supervises the minor at all times.
Ambient Mild Plunge
- Ambient temperature is considered to be between 16°C and 20°C.
- No under 16s are permitted in any water at a temperature of 15°C or below, as this is considered cold.
- Minors aged 5 to 16 may use ambient mild plunge facilities provided that an adult family member or guardian has signed the waiver above and supervises the minor at all times.
A waiver must be read, understood, and signed by an adult family member or guardian before any minor uses either of these facilities.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS
I acknowledge the advice not to bring any valuable possessions to the sauna site and understand that Sea Scrub Sauna accepts no liability for lost, damaged, or stolen possessions on our site. We aim to be vigilant on our sites and take care of our customers; however, it is the customer’s full responsibility to ensure the safeguarding of all personal possessions at all times whilst on site.
Phones and electronics do not respond well to heat. If you choose to use any electronics during your sauna session, you do so at your own risk. Sea Scrub Sauna is not liable for any damage to your possessions.
I grant Sea Scrub Sauna, its representatives, and employees the right to take photographs of me and my property. I authorise Sea Scrub Sauna, its assignees, and transferees to copyright, use, and publish the same in print and/or electronically for purposes including publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content.
Smoking and e-cigarettes of any kind are not permitted in our facility. No glass containers or bottles are permitted at any time on the sauna site.
ALLERGIES
The sauna may use various essential oils and salts. Please use at your own risk. Leave the sauna immediately if you have any adverse or allergic reaction, including difficulty breathing, eye, nasal or throat irritation.
Sea scrub sauna may offer complimentary infusions. These infusions can contain essential oils and various ingredients. I understand that I am using and consuming at my own risk.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Scheduling a session is a reservation of time put aside specifically for you. We ask for a mutual respect of that commitment.
We do understand that unforeseen circumstances can sometimes make cancellation necessary. Please read our cancellation terms carefully.
Private Bookings: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session start time will receive a full cash refund to your bank account, minus a 2.5% card processing fee. Please allow 3 to 5 days for the refund to be processed. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session start time cannot be refunded.
Social Sessions and Events: These cannot be refunded. Sessions and events may be rescheduled once, provided we receive notice at least 48 hours before your chosen date and time. Cancellations within 48 hours cannot be refunded or rescheduled. In the event of an emergency, please contact us before cancelling and we will do our best to accommodate a change of date.
Special Occasion Bookings: Hen dos, full site hire, and large group bookings will receive a full refund (minus the 2.5% card processing fee) if cancelled more than 2 weeks before the session date. Cancellations within 2 weeks cannot be refunded but may be rescheduled by agreement. Please get in touch via Instagram or email to discuss your options.
Late Arrivals: Arriving late to a session reduces the time available to you. The full booking fee remains payable regardless. Sea Scrub Sauna is not able to adjust session times based on late arrival.
