GENERAL
What to Bring:
Swimwear, 2 towels (one small to sit on, one large to dry), and drinking water.
Warm clothing for cold or windy days.
Beach footwear: suitable for Margate’s sandy beach or Whitstable’s pebble beach.
Avoid swimwear with metal fasteners, all metal jewelry, glasses, and mobile phones inside the sauna—they can overheat.
Are the saunas safe?
Sauna temperatures range from 70–100°C, monitored by attendants. If overheated, exit, cool down for 10 minutes, and re-enter. Temperature gauges are available, and staff can assist. Listen to your body and avoid overexertion.
Are children allowed?
Children aged 5+ are allowed with adult supervision and a signed waiver.
Ages 5–12 can only join private sessions due to frequent cool-down breaks.
Ages 12–18 can join social sessions with adult supervision
Will I share the sauna?
Social Sessions: Saunas are shared with others, it´s a great way to connect with new people. We also offer silent sessions at all our locations.
Private Hire: Gives exclusive use of the sauna to you and your group including cold plunge whisky barrels and site facilities.
Lost Property
We strive to accommodate lost property requests. Items are kept on-site for 1–2 weeks before being donated to charity. Contact us:

Do you have body scrubs?
Yes! Organic Dead Sea Salt scrubs with rose petals, lavender, or peppermint. £5 per pot. Try it out and feel incredible!
Can I book treatments?
Yes, we have a range of seasonal treatments at our sites. Check our treatments page for more details! [LINK]
Can we bring food & drinks?
Soft drinks and snacks are welcome, but no food inside the saunas.
Refrigerated drinks and free water refills are available on-site.
Is alcohol permitted?
Alcohol and saunas/cold plunges generally don’t mix. No alcohol is allowed inside saunas. Moderate consumption is permitted on-site after sessions during private bookings.
What about severe weather conditions?
We may close during adverse weather (e.g., storms or strong winds) for safety. Saunas stay open if deemed safe. No refunds for rain, sleet, or snow—these are some of the best times to sauna!
Hygiene routines
Our saunas are cleaned after every session. Finnish saunas, with high temperatures and good ventilation, are naturally hygienic.

Facilities Available
Margate Beach:
Communal changing room, public toilets, lockers (bring a padlock), and showers, including our unique boat shower.
Valuables are left at your own risk; security cameras are on-site.
Whitstable Harbour:
Communal and outdoor changing spaces with showers. Public toilets are in the harbour building.
Sauna Capacity:
Margate Beach: Barrel sauna (6 social, 8 private), Electric sauna (6 social, 8 private).
Whitstable Harbour: Large wood-fired sauna (12 social, 12 private).
Which sauna should I book?
Margate Beach: Choose between a Nordic wood-fired barrel sauna or a modern electric cube sauna, both offering stunning ocean views. The barrel sauna includes a small porch for changing and storing belongings.
Whitstable Harbour: Bespoke wood-fired sauna with stunning sea views.
Parking & Public Transport
Margate Beach: Free parking near Nayland Rock Hotel and paid parking at the train station (2 mins walk). Accessible by bus (5 min walk) or train (5 mins walk) (London Victoria/St. Pancras routes).
Whitstable Harbour: Ample parking nearby and accessible via train (10 mins walk) or bus (5 mins walk).
FAQ´s - BOOKINGS
What’s your cancellation policy?
Private Bookings: Full refund (minus 2.5% card fee) if canceled 48+ hours in advance. No refunds can be issued within 48 hours of your session time.
Social Sessions/Events: No refunds but rescheduling is allowed 48+ hours in advance. Emergencies considered on a case-by-case basis.
Special Occasions: Full refund (minus 2.5% fee) if canceled 2+ weeks in advance. No refunds within 2 weeks, but rescheduling may be possible.
Can I reschedule my session?
Cancel 48+ hours before your session to receive credit for rebooking. Sessions canceled within 48 hours cannot be refunded. Your Sea Scrub Sauna account will be credited with the refund allowing you to rebook a new session.
What are the sauna session durations?
Sessions are 1 hour: 55 minutes of sauna time and 5 minutes for cleaning. For longer sessions, select a 2-hour option when booking. Our events and special private bookings can vary.
Which of your locations cater for large group bookings?
Group Bookings: All locations accommodate large private bookings, with hen dos being especially popular as well as landmark birthday events.

At Sea Scrub Sauna we have 2 memberships
Annual membership: Annual membership - Costs £30/year from the purchase date, with discounts on sauna bookings and events. For more info: [LINK]
Monthly membership: Costs £30/month for 4 sessions on selected days and times. Requires an annual membership. Sessions reset on the 1st of each month, regardless of sign-up date. For more info: [LINK]
