If you’ve visited Sea Scrub Sauna before, chances are you’ve already crossed paths with Sammy. After a year of bringing warmth and energy to our Whitstable site, Sammy is stepping into her new role as site manager at Macknade — and we couldn’t be more excited to see her bring her passion and expertise to this beautiful location.
We caught up with Sammy so you can get to know her before your next visit.
Her New Role at Macknade
As site manager, Sammy will be overseeing the daily operations and supporting the Macknade team to ensure every guest’s experience is seamless and special. “You’ll be seeing my face quite a lot around here,” she says. “So come and say hello!”
Her Journey with Sea Scrub Sauna
Sammy has been part of the Sea Scrub Sauna family from the very beginning. Over the past year, she’s grown her skills at our Whitstable site, developing a deep love for sauna culture. From mastering Aufguss rituals to attending specialist trainings, she’s built up a wealth of knowledge — and now she’s bringing that experience to lead the Macknade site. “I’ve really developed a huge passion for everything sauna and I’m really, really excited to start my new role here,” she shares.
Beyond Management: A Sauna Master in Training
Sammy isn’t just managing the Macknade site — she’s also training as a sauna master and leads Aufguss sessions across all three of our locations. Whether you’re joining for a ritual or a casual visit, her energy and warmth are always felt.
Why Sauna Means Community
For Sammy, sauna is about much more than heat and cold. “To me, sauna is about community, bringing people together, meeting people that you probably would never meet, having conversations in the sauna that you would never imagine, and I love it,” she says.
